Hello all!

We have been off the radar recently; following the loss of our team leader, we have all been manically trying to pull our weight in other areas and also personal and professional practices. We had a meeting last week and decided that we need to keep Archive Sheffield going for a number of reasons.

Firstly, we feel it is vital to keep Clive’s work alive. He made such a huge contribution to the photographic landscape here in Sheffield and it would be a great shame to disregard his hard work over the years – the Archive Sheffield project was something that he felt incredibly proud of. None of us would be in the position to showcase our work by means of the Archive if it wasn’t for Clive, so we have him to thank for that.

Secondly, we are still making work! We are all currently working on our own projects and more new work will be uploaded to the website very soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

Thirdly, Archive Sheffield is a great platform for people to read and learn about the people of Sheffield. As Clive rightly said, “Sheffield is not place, it is people.” We all want to keep this momentum alive by documenting the ever-changing, diverse group of people that inhabit Sheffield. So this is what we will continue to do.

So with the above in progress, watch this space for updates on new work, news and fresh ideas.
